Melaka Crocodile Farm (Taman Buaya Melaka)
Melaka Crocodile Farm, established in 1987, is one of the largest crocodile and alligator farms in Malaysia, housing over 100 species of crocodilians. Spanning over 3.5 acres, the farm serves as both a tourist attraction and a conservation center dedicated to the preservation and breeding of these ancient reptiles. Visitors can observe hundreds of crocodiles of various sizes and species in naturalistic enclosures, from hatchlings to massive adults over 4.5 meters long. The farm offers regular educational shows where handlers demonstrate the strength and agility of these powerful reptiles, as well as feeding sessions that showcase their impressive hunting abilities. Beyond crocodiles, the facility also houses other reptiles like monitor lizards and snakes, as well as mammals including deer and monkeys. The farm includes a museum displaying crocodile artifacts and information, a restaurant serving crocodile meat dishes for the adventurous, and a souvenir shop selling unique crocodile leather products.
